What is a Bio-Stimulator Treatment?

Collagen is a protein produced by our cells that supports the skin, keeping it looking younger and giving it firmness and fullness. After the age of 20, our body begins to deplete collagen slowly. 


Bio-Stimulator is unique and completely different to traditional HA fillers. It contains poly L-lactic acid and acts by stimulating the body's ability to produce collagen within the deep dermis gradually over 4-6 weeks. It restores the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles and revitalises facial volume with natural-looking results that are maintained for many years after treatment. It's used to correct (shallow to deep) facial wrinkles and folds in areas such as smile lines, marionette lines and chin wrinkles.

What to Expect from Your Treatment?

On the day of treatment, your face will appear a little fuller. This fullness will diminish over the next 48 hours as the liquid is absorbed, leaving the PLLA molecules to start working. Over the next 4-6 weeks, the collagen levels will be stimulated, and the results are gradually appearing. Your results will then be reviewed, and another treatment may be recommended to continue your results.

What to Expect After Treatment?

Most people can return to their normal activities immediately after injections. Swelling, bruising, and other side effects are usually mild and subside within a few days. Doing the following will help speed up your recovery:

  • Apply a cold pack to the affected area for a few minutes at a time within the first 24 hours.
  • Following treatment, massage the area for five minutes at a time, five times a day, for five days.
  • Avoid excessive sunlight or tanning beds until any redness and swelling have resolved.

Results are gradual, and it may take a few weeks to see the full effects. Results last up to two years.
